| We had the pleasure of meeting Officer Don Shumate after he was referred to PVP by the Los Angeles Police Department. Officer Shumate has been riding motors with Escondido PD, located in the northern end of San Diego County, for the last 7 of his 13 years with the Department. He's been on BMW's for the last 4 years, and recommends the bike as "Phenomenal, far exceeding my expectations, with awesome acceleration and braking characteristics". He's been using PVP equipment for the last 3 years and recommends the company as "very reliable, with quality that has exceeded my expectations".
One of Officer Shumate's more memorable traffic stops includes being verbally assaulted by an older gentleman who accidentally spit out his dentures, only pausing long enough to pick them off the pavement and put them back in his mouth.
Another stop cost the Department a motor when a 16 year old accidentally shifted into reverse while reaching for his wallet. "Fortunately, that was just before we went to the BMW's" says the Officer.
Officer Don is also quite well known for his photos in BMW literature and "Modern Police Motorcycles in Action" by Author Robert Genat. He's a super nice guy and graciously tolerates the nicknames "Hollywood" and "The Poster Boy".
