| By far our most popular product, this Portable / Mobile Dual Radio Interface System is designed to accommodate officers who use their Helmet Communications with both their Portable Radio and Mobile Motorcycle Radio, and require “seamless” and continual helmet communications. The System continually senses the pigtail connection to the motor and automatically routes the helmet accordingly to the proper radio without the use of belt boxes or switches. Mistakes in transmitting with wrongly positioned switches are eliminated, along with the tangles of excessive cabling, and burden of a belt box.
The System allows operation of the Portable Radio as a normal “handheld” with both Transmit and receive capability while the Adapter is attached. Receive audio is muted at the Portable and communications re-directed to the helmet only when the helmet is connected to the adapter. Helmet microphone Push-To-Talk (P'T) is available at the adapter.
When the officer mates the pigtail connection shown, Helmet communications automatically re-routed to the motorcycle radio and Mobile Radio transmissions with the Helmet microphone are now activated by means of a Push-To-Talk (PTT) switch at the motorcycle handlebar. By pressing a second handlebar PTT button the motorcycle siren will be activated as a Public Address (PA) System, and the Officer can then broadcast from the helmet microphone to direct traffic etc. without removing his hands from the handlebars.
Alternatively the Helmet can be connected directly to the Motorcycle bypassing the Portable Radio and Autoswitching Adapter.
